Accounting Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Accounting specialist with strategic vision to lead the accounting function of a new company in our group in Portugal. This is a unique opportunity to build all processes from the ground up, establish the financial foundations and ensure tax compliance in a dynamic and growing environment.

Your responsibilities:

• Design and implement all accounting and financial processes for the company.
• Manage general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations and monthly and annual closings.
• Ensure compliance with tax and legal obligations in Portugal.
• Coordinate with external consultants (tax, labor, audit) and collaborate with the group’s finance team.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements and internal reports for the board.
• Actively participate in the implementation of the ERP (Business Central or other) and other systems required for accounting management.
• As the company grows, lead the development of the local finance team.

We are looking for someone with:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a full accounting role, preferably in SMEs or startup contexts.
• Good knowledge of Portuguese tax and accounting legislation.
• Practical mindset, oriented towards action and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions with confidence.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English (Spanish will be a plus).
• Experience with Business Central or similar ERPs will be valued.

Pay: 20,000.00 € – 40,000.00 € per year

• 8-hour shift
